99.9% of the world population can relate to me

99.9% of the world population can relate to me

'cos we're all human.

What kind of blogs do I like to read during my leisure time? Mindless and bimbo blogs with tons and tons of self-portraiture pictures. That's why I enjoy reading Xiaxue's blog. Not that I'm her fan, but hahahhh, I have to admit it's darn entertaining. Awesome read when you want to unwind after work.

:)

Jesse: I stopped dating her already.
Joanna: Why? She's the type you're looking for, right? Cool girl with few words?
Jesse: Yes, but it becomes so flat after a while. I think I like whiny girls now.
Joanna: Like?
Jesse: Cindy Wang.

HAHAHAHAHAHHHH. Dear dear Jesse!

My reflection is staring back at me

My reflection is staring back at me

(updated edit at the bottom)

I knew I had something to say before I sat down here in front of my computer. But now as I'm about to start writing with my account opened, I don't know what I really want to write anymore.

Anyway I think I need to get a huge sturdy carry bag for my filming trip to Beijing - To put my junk + bottle + handycam + lomo' cam (don't even bother asking why am I bringing my plastic baby there when I'd most probably spend 8/10 of my time there filming). Ah yes, and jeans.

Hate them, but I need them.

And I need a freakdamn huge hard disk. Might want to do some editing there. What else? Yes, hair clips (note the 's'). I keep breaking them. Think I need a dozen. And I'm kinda affected by the style I'm writing now. Seems... un-Joanna. So dull, and formal.

How am I going to revert?

Back to track. I need shoes for the trip; 'cos this smart alec here gave away all her shoes to the Cambodia kids. How generous. Now all I'm left with is a huge cupboard of heels and crocs. And her Mizuno which she doesn't even wear anymore 'cos she's quit her team. No, she no longer play volleyball. Or rather, exercise.

Great.

She's a fat balloon now. Go ahead and laugh.

What if Jon Foo (team leader) sees this and thought I want to lose weight; and then he'll start to torture and starve me in Beijing.

Jon: NO NO NO! The location is bad for this interview. I said, NO FREAKING MOVING IMAGES OR PEOPLE AT THE BACK! Didn't you hear me? Re-shoot, re-shoot, re-shoot! By today! I mean it.

Joanna: I beg you on my knees. I'm starving... Just one bite off your siew mai, please?

Jon: You even have the cheek to ask for food? HELL, NO!

Joanna: *sobs* Just one tiny bite.

Jon: Okay, just one tiny bite of the yellow skin.

Joanna: Thank you so much! Ten thousand years of health! Long live Your Majesty!

:)

I hope Jon Foo doesn't see this, hahahahh.

I sure know how to digress, huh!

[edit]
Rica insist that I post our personality tests up here.
Hers. Mine.

I think this is pretty accurate - Rica's a true blue procrastinator! Hahahh. And she's got a really charming personality :)

And I always get taken advantage of during work (and get really really angry over it), love stable and standardized work space, can't take disorderly situations and ever-changing rules, excessively nervous about foreboding events, love and needs protectiveness and security.

All in all, the test says I always have anxieties. How true. That's why my classmates say I have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). Which isn't very good. Pfft.

Morning guys :)

So I woke up at 9.30am to select my IS (Interdisciplinary Studies) modules. Early early early!

So here are my modules for this semester:
1. Advanced Film Production
2. Directing for Camera*
3. Documentary Production*
4. Regional Cinema
5. Media Law
6. IS Effective Negotiation* (1-3pm)
7. IS World Issues: A Singapore Perspective* (10-12pm)

*Chosen elective/classes

I think I'll do badly for Regional Cinema. I always do badly for modules like that. I remember getting Cs and freaking low Bs for 'Intro to Film' and 'Film History'. Pfft.

Anyway I have to get myself organized (and stop procrastinating about packing my luggage) before I leave for Beijing on Tuesday. Today I ought to...
1. Exercise exercise exercise
2. Print my itinerary
3. Pack my luggage
4. Shop for my missing items
5. Visit Shereen and Brandon
6. Get out of my stuffy house

See, it's better already.

And why am I feeling so strange inside?

And why am I feeling so strange inside?

Am I by any means... Scared?

Sometimes when you're bored and have nothing to do, you have funny friends like this who talks to you about cute DOPs (Director of Photography) we meet on set, and compares with you on whose DOP is cuter. I think mine's cuter ('cos mine's a cute angmoh).

Anyway.
I hope Lee Ann will someday direct 'Empress Orchid'. I've read it twice - And still loving it.

:)

Shit.
I really don't know what to say.
Hello you?

Goodbye.

Someone is breaking down on the other side, and it seems like I'm celebrating here. But really, I am not.

A very sunny afternoon

A very sunny afternoon

I'm here to blog - Again. And, why am I updating everyday? 'Cos I have no life and I have boring friends.

They either a)club, b)drink, or c)more drinks. I'm sick of their lifestyle already and why haven't they? I hope I have more intellectual friends who talk about politics and life philosophies.

No, I'm not serious about that.

But I'm serious about being sick of my friends. Or so I claim them to be.

So, today just as Church service ended, XXXXX (whom shares an on-off friendship with me) called and told me she just broke off with her boyfriend.

Joanna: Who, Bill*?
XXXXX: John*.
Joanna: John who?
XXXXX: That John.
Joanna: I thought you were with Bill?
XXXXX: Bill was my partner.
Joanna: And John was your-
XXXXX: -Boyfriend.
Joanna: So you have a boyfriend and a partner.
XXXXX: Yes.
Joanna: You're cheating on your boyfriend.
XXXXX: Not exactly. He knows about it.

*Names have been changed. And I don't know why I'm using 'John'.

This is the kind of society we're living in. It's right beside me - My own friend. I even have friends who are into chicken-food (prostitution/whoring). Yes, even when they have girlfriends (who are very forgiving - oddly; I'd have chopped off my guy's balls already if he did that to me). They blame it all on camp. I blame it on their own principles.

This is what you'll meet when you're in the media industry - Screwed-up people. You got to stand firm in your principles and beliefs in order to work in an environment like this. That's when faith/religion comes in; Christianity is what keeps me in lane.

Anyway, on my way home a girl my age sat beside me. She smells of cheap perfume. Air freshener, maybe. But she's pretty - Doe-eyed, fair, jet-black hair (with trimmed bangs), and flushed cheeks.

She smiled at me. I smiled at her. We smiled.

I wanted to say hello. But then again, that would be overly friendly, and she might think I'm a freak (or a crazy lesbian). So I just looked out of the window and act as if I didn't really bother about her.

Maybe I'll see her again. That's bus 157.
:)

Question of the day:
Does the army really influence guys to look for whores? I'm really up to a discussion for this. Call me.

Many times we forget

Many times we forget

Mom: I haven't met Auntie Shirong after being away in US for 10 years; but after we met up, we're best friends all over again. That's true friendship. Well after I got married, I put all my energy into building a family and I've lost most of my friends. But then at that point I realized that the most important and basic rule that people usually forget or neglect is to build a friendship with their spouse. Papa is not just a husband, but my very best friend.

PRCs with their bushy armpits

PRCs with their bushy armpits

Since I have 10 minutes to spare right now, I'm gonna do a quickie bloggy.

Well. Everytime someone ask me what kind of person I loathe, I'd tell them I'm okay with everyone. But truth is, I have a low threshold for many types of people, and I'm actually very embarrassed about it.

I can't stand people who are rude, loud, inconsiderate, disrespectful, critical, condemning, stingy, calculative, inhumane, and mood-swingy.

Okay luh, to summarize it all, I like people who are sensitive and respectful to the feelings of others. This is something I'm trying to learn right now.

Anyway. I had my last day at The Creative Room on Thursday. Been an awesome whirl and I miss them already!

My bosses and I:

Can't believe this is the only proper picture with all of us together.

From left to right:
Daniel (the Auntie-killer and Dude-who-just-lost-his-freedom-by-getting-married),
Pok (the guy who directed 'Super Dong'),
Yours Truly (your favourite girl - ever),
and Ric (cool boss who previously directed 'Buy Me Love'. Do catch his new shortie 'Silent Girls' at SIFF 2008!)

I'm gonna go shopping with my dearest mom now. Till then, goodbye!

LOVE YOU ALL.

And she sings

And she sings

Joanna: Mama, do you think...
Mom: (turns around) Eee, you're disturbingly white.

I hate my mom. @#$%^&*

Okay, luh. I'll go get a tan and do some workout, luh. It's just that working takes up soooo much time I don't have the time to exercise. And I swear this' not an excuse. Workout after work? Pfft. The only time I would like to workout and get some Vitamin D is during the day. I can't get a tan at night, right? Besides, the pool closes at night, you asshole; and I don't jog - It gives me fat calves.

So much for my angst. Now here's Christina Anguilera's "Hurt" for you. Enjoy.

Beautiful lyrics but tsk, they take up so much space. Find the lyrics yourself.

My silly buddies at the IT Show 2008:

P.S. Today I'm gonna take up the challenge of Window Shopping, literally, without spending a single cent. I challenge you guys to do it too.

The area around the wound gets itchy sometimes

The area around the wound gets itchy sometimes

If you're prone to falling, prevent it. True. We know most of our strengths and weaknesses; but how many times do we stop ourselves from falling into the traps of our vulnerability?

Say, a man's got this tendency of cheating on his wife (he loves all women too much, that's why), but yet he hangs around with women colleagues a lot and walks pass Geylang practically everyday. He's bound to fall one day, am I right?

So what I'm trying to say is that you can prevent yourself from committing a crime. No excuses to that, no matter what - Violence, adultery (or two-timing), theft, flirting, procrastination, lust, murdering thoughts, greed, or simply not attending Church services by allowing Sunday activities to hinder your way.

I don't know why the sudden outburst of theos. But please, DO NOT IGNORE THIS POST. Do think about it in every aspect of your life 'cos I think this is so damn true and important.

I can eat a 'Cecilia'

I can eat a 'Cecilia'

I'm soooo tired I can fall asleep the second I get into bed; but I just wanna share this something cute with you guys before I feel too lazy to blog about it.

This' what I saw on the train few days back - A fashion victim:

Yellow hair band, yellow jacket, yellow top, yellow pants (or is that leggings?!), yellow jelly shoes, yellow handbang, and yellow umbrella.

What? A banana?

Okay, 'nuff laughing. GOODNIGHT.

P.S. I'm in such a good mood today I think I'll have a darn awesome dream. Say, me being a billionaire? ;P

Blush blush

Blush blush

Joanna: You swallowed a rotten chamomile soap, is it? Your breath stinks.
Rica: (sniffs her breath) I think I squeezed expired Veet on my toothbrush this morning.

Hahahahh, my dear Rica.

Today's funny - I have loads of mixed feelings. I'm feeling nervous, confused, worried, empty, excited, happy, and crazy. Mostly nervous; and it makes my heart skip a beat. Ahh. This' the funny part: I don't know what I'm nervous about, or what intrigued my mixed emotions. Must be the weather.

I think I need a kickass dream to cheer myself up. Will you enter my dreams tonight? :)

Goodnight y'all.

Counting down

Counting down

Miss Me, anyone?
Just in case you think I'm missing in action, let me update you guys about my life and post some pictures in case you've already forgotten how I look like, hahahahh.

1. I've bought a Diana F+ camera! Yes Jesse, after talking 'bout lomography for so long, I know.
2. I'm going to Beijing in 3 weeks' time.
3. Helped my boss in some Nokia shoot last week. Had to write 6 scripts. A bit mad, luh.
4. And... :'(

Anyway I had a really terrible morning. The acid in my stomach's working up and I almost felt like passing out. It's okay now, though. My boss gave me some pills. He thinks he's a doctor, ha ha.
