Don't get lost in the highway

Don't get lost in the highway

Hard days, good times, blue skies, dark nights
Baby, I want you to take me wherever you're going to
Maybe, say that you'll save me a seat next to you

They say that one will only feel the need to rejuvenate herself when she hits her mid twenties. But really, I can feel myself aging already. It's like I'm not as hyped as before, my skin not as bright as before, and I'm feeling tired all the time. I'm starting to have eye rings now. Le sigh, I'm only 19!

Meow, you look old too.

When you realize that you're stucked in a net-feed whereby you can't stop fretting over erstwhile histories and stories, calm down, close your eyes, and go to sleep. When you open your eyes, it's a brand new day.

"Forget about your worries and your strife."

The past, is the past

The past, is the past

...so stop dwelling in it and feel sorry for yourself.
Embrace the present; look forward to the future.

I was browsing through the photos in my iPhoto and can't help but smile at Jojo's photos. I think he's the most adorable dog ever! He's sleeping on my bed as I'm typing this ;D

I loooovvee squeezing his head like this:

Jojo, you are LOVE!

Advertorial

If you want to scan your film negatives to pictures in high-res file with a lower fee as compared to the photo labs outside (which has got ridiculous fees for low-res pics), go to this link: Film Scanning Service.

Now everything in Singapore's pretty expensive. So you ought to save money, okay?

Top of the world

Top of the world

Everything I want the world to be
Is now coming true especially for me
And the reason is clear
It's because you are here
You're the nearest thing to heaven that I've seen

Got to rush my TVC edit already. ARMPIT ARMPIT ARMPIT! :(
Byebyeeeeee!

You hide me away

You hide me away

And I ask:
How thrilled, how proud?
How did the others emulate?
Why do I envy?

Can't help laughing at your own disposal; you were much happier then.
This might all be a big mistake or an awful nightmare which we will all wake up from.

Ah well, goodnight all :)

Plastic girl

Plastic girl

The synthetic world destroyed all my feelings.
Why people don't understand the emptiness;
they'll never learn it with their plastic brains.

Hair bleaching. Hair extensions. Eyelash perming. Brow shaping. Brow dye. Double eyelid stickers. Colored lenses. Nose reshaping. Braces. Teeth whitening. Silicon breasts. Breast firming. Mamilla lightening. Waxing. IPL hair removal. Indoor tanning. Skin whitening. Faux nails. Mani-pedi. Pore reduction. Cellulite removal. Face reshaping. Mole removal. Botox. Liposuction. Laser treatment. Blarrrrggghhh.

The world: It's never enough, right?

p.s. I need a pocket camera.

Try harder next time

Try harder next time

You can't be too emotionally dependent sometimes or it'll just be your downfall. Trust me - I've been there, done that. And as optimistic as I always try to be, I'm hitting the restart button, giving myself a second chance. Farewell, Miss Emotional.

So I tell myself:
I might not be the happiest person alive,
but I can be the most contented person ever.

I'm learning to stand on my own feet, feeding myself with brawn. For the first time ever, I'm actually dating people out. Yes, people, not person. I tend to focus on a single person all the time - Best friend, buddy, classmate, mate, companion, team partner, church friend... And this becomes so bad, people think they're of nothing to me (which is not true, really).

This is, sadly, my downfall.

Once he/she leaves, I'm left with all the emotional baggage that I drag with me for years before I can put it down. And I get insecure and resentful all the time, thinking why aren't they like me - Why do they enjoy themselves with the others as much as they are with me, whilst I don't at all?

Now I'm reevaluating myself and I'm changing. Not for anyone, but for myself. I have the rights to be as happy as anyone else, right? :)

It's a painful walk home

It's a painful walk home

Dear Lord, where's my sunshine?
Why does it keep raining all the time?

Walking away

Walking away

What, what, what? Don't wanna hear anymore.
It wrecked my day. I hate today.

All these bottled up inside made me feel so bitter, like an acidic roach.
Maybe I'll die early, hoorah.

And in fact, with all these angst, disappointment, and envy, I don't think I can sleep.
I guess I shall go for a walk now. BYE.

Awaiting the long-awaited Christmas

Awaiting the long-awaited Christmas

No matter how awesome you already are,
you are but nothing without Him.

How can I not miss us trio?

I remember the times we had our cold wars, our squabbles, and our tears.
But above all the things we hate about each other, there is love.

As cheesy as it sounds :)

Where are you?

Where are you?

This is what production gives you:

An irregular tan.

Walao, I swear I can be branded the world's most boring person ever. See, it's the hols. But I don't even want to step out of my house. I don't even want to meet anyone - Even my buddies. I feel like hibernating in my room for a month, hahahh.

(Yes, it must be menopause, again, screwing up my hormones.)

I hated asking people out. I've always thought they've got plans and I shouldn't screw 'em up. However yesterday I've got the sudden urge to date my FSV buddies. I realized I actually missed them so much that I became so numb about it. Screw school and work.

CC and I (of course, tofu and caleb's there too):

'Money Not Enough 2' wasn't awesome, but it did make me tear on certain chapters of the story. Aww.

Goodbye :)

Sunday, August 10, 2008

You're not here

You're not here

I love things that we should fear
I'm not afraid of being here
So much the same
It makes me helpless alone

Lately I've been feeling very dismal.
I must be having menopause.

Anyway I'm just left with my TVC edit and a Media Law test for this semester. But besides that, school's pretty much over! ;D

I love the hols.

Now's an emo-ment

Now's an emo-ment

Today my TVC shoot for Gibson Guitars wrapped. Instead of feeling really happy about it, there's this wave of... dejection that came over me. I don't exactly know how to explain this odd emotion, but it sure didn't feel good.

And it's ironic how I spent my supposedly "joyous" last day of year 3 sem 1 production - I actually spent it with my outside friends instead of my school mates. I wasn't happy. But I guess no one would understand and I don't really bother explaining.

"Chey, just a small matter luh."
Everyone's just happy as they are.

But thanks sweethearts for accompanying me today, making my moody day a less trying one. I guess you are the only people who could/would empathize with me.

Okay I promise to load the photos we took today, heh.

Feeling super patriotic, we painted Singapore flags on our faces and ate 3 big bags of chips while laughing at those people on TV, hahahahh. Like old times.

Ben: HAHAHHH. Eh look at that dude with specs behind Mr. President! Joanna, that one your husband, hahahhh.

XLing: CMI la, this officer. Like kok-ta-du.

Rica: Who's that?

XLing: Hahahh, don't know. I just made that up.

But just as they leave my house, I'm back to my square emotional mood. I can't help but feel miserable. I guess buddy's right - Maybe I should be more open about my feelings even if it does bring the others down.

For now, I shall take a cold bath and sleep. Yes, I shall sleep at 11am tonight for a change even though I'm 100% charged.

What a lonely day. Goodbye.

(I apologize for being cynical in my previous post.)

Worried about being constantly worried about everything

Worried about being constantly worried about everything

Some of the greater things in life are unseen; that's why you close your eyes when you kiss, cry, or dream.

I can see people's fear. Fear of being alone. Sometimes I see people going the extra mile just to get that extra company. Is it worth it? Or are they insecure?

I've always been different and I've always wanted to change. In school I would try to be involved in the conversations, but I know deep inside I'm not connected at all. In church I would try to get involved in activities, but somehow along the way I'll just slip off into my own world. I didn't really think I'm that of a loner, but I just knew I was different. I couldn't clique with most people.

Especially when I hated what the others do - Being oh so friendly, nice, enthusiastic, funny, smart when they're not.
I hated it when they seem so congenial and fun when they're in a group, but so cold and stale when you're one on one with them.
I hated the fact that they can seem so supportive, but so deceiving actually.

That's why on most days I chose to be alone. Away from all the hypocrisy.

A post for the laydees

A post for the laydees

Can't dress up ≠ Fashion disaster
Fashion disaster = Clothes that makes you look like a clown

Everyone's got their wardrobe malfunction days. But sometimes some people just make these mistakes everyday.

1. The basic - Bras.

Don't they know that transparent bra straps aren't exactly... transparent? And really, it's awful at that.

Ugh.

You see, strapless bras are invented for a reason. Or you can look for other alternatives like the stick-ons, the patches, or tubes. Dig those.

2. Back to the 80s - Leggings.

Whoever substitutes pants with leggings?!

It's gross to see people wearing regular tops matched with leggings. Well girls, at least cover your asses! Leggings are just a thicker version of stockings; you don't ever wear them as pants.

Picture seeing the full shape of this girl's ass with the outline of her underwear formed on the leggings.

Tell me, how disgusting is that?

Thrash this:

Dig this:

Still insist on going for "that look"?
Well just to let you know, some genius out there actually created this awesome invention called the "skinny jeans", you know?

Love me, hate me

Love me, hate me

I can see all the hate in you. All the hurt that's been bundled up inside. I know you feel lost, you feel cheated, you feel jaded. But maybe the sun's shining for you on the other side of the Earth. So don't look for it here, look for it elsewhere.

Life, well, is full of surprises.

(Hahahahh, this picture is random.
Secondhand Serenade.)

I can't wait for the holidays!
I hate school.

Anyway FSV-ians, here are some reminders:

1. There's Regional Cinema and Documentary Production test this coming Monday.
2. Doc Pro will be tested on all that we've learned + 4 documentaries (Grizzly Man, Thin, Brat Camp China, and Highway Courtesans).
3. Our final Documentary production is due this coming Friday, 5pm.
4. "Blood Brothers" final edit is due on Wednesday.
5. There's TVC shoot (for Directing & Cinematography students) next weekend for Pea, Pradip, and my group.
6. TVC telecine is on 14th August, 2008 (Thursday).
7. Media Law final exam is on 18th August (during Monday lecture). It's 40% so we better all study hard for it!
8. Submission for TVC final edit is on 26th August (Tuesday). Yes, it's on a holiday but that'll be our lassstttt ever project for the semester! HOORAH. Let's look forward it it ;)

Okay, don't say nobody reminded you about the deadlines.
BYEEEE.

Wallow in self pity

Wallow in self pity

Today my elder brother (if you don't already know, he's Jeremy) received a letter from the government stating that he needs to take an oath of renunciation, allegiance and loyalty to Singapore just 'cos he's a minor citizen by registration in Singapore. He got to denounce either the Singapore or American citizenship.

And if my brother renounce Singapore citizenship, there is no assurance that he can continue studying, working or residing in Singapore as a foreigner on any form unless he keeps regularizing his stay in Singapore. And if my he renounces the American citizenship, he can't get any US government loans or scholarships when he take his master (which is my bro's big plan for himself).

My parents are pretty stressed about it.

Singapore didn't have this law initially till recently. Mommy says that all minor citizens in Singapore will receive this letter when he/she hits 21. So yes, I'll receive that in 2 years.

Le sigh. But I'm sure God's got this all planned out. We just got to learn how to trust in Him.

:(
