Hello, my name is Deery-Lou

Hi, I'm a little plush mascot

On him: He doesn't know how to express himself in words or by loud actions.

He simply does little things like buying you Prickly Heat 'cos you're often in a bout of heatrash. He stays up all night just to give you a morning call at 6am 'cos he knows you'd probably be late for work. He wakes up and calls you in the middle of the night just 'cos he knows you like waking up for a good chat. He, though a nocturn, never fail to get home early 'cos he knows you hate late-night bad habits. He would call to remind you to catch your favourite TV drama, and update you when you fail to catch it.

And what makes all these really credible, is that he doesn't do all these just so he can get into your good books. You can really tell when someone's being a genuine care-lover or a damned curry-licker.

Well, YOU make me the happiest person on Earth :)

A materialistic post-Christmas entry

A materialistic post-Christmas entry

The long awaited day is actually um, over.
Nothing spectacular, nothing worth blogging about. Okay except maybe for the new Santa coat I bought for Jojo. But that's about it.

I didn't even have a Christmas tree, and my prezzies are mainly chocolates.

All lazy preppers give excuses to their shoddy perf by claiming that this Christmas is a time to "reflect on the past year/think about the grace...", and then they can be pardoned for their disorganization by just having the audience sit there and stone reflect.

So the papers say that many are breaking away from the downfall by having some cheer. But, not many are defying the economy gloom, really. Check: Orchard uses recycled materials to build their Christmas tree, and its "ornaments" are stamped with their sponsors' company name. And its theme of round-handed people looks like CCC (Cheap China Crap).

It's over. Time to await for the next one.

Colour me blue

Colour me blue

If you're observant enough, I've updated my blog sidebar (I know, like finally right) - Profile, photography links, exterior links, to-buy list, to-do list, calendar, and of course, blog links!

Yes yes, I've replaced old addresses with new ones. By removing all the dead links (blogs that have been deleted or changed) and private/protected blog links, the amount of my blog links have noticeably dropped by half. And if I start eliminating stagnant blogs... ...hahahh.

Anyway let me know if you want me to add or update your new blog address, ya? Cheers! :)

super funny text grabbed from Gina, who's having her Directing class:

The "D" word

The "D" word

It keeps appearing for many reasons today. I hoped for a awesome church Christmas celebration and I'm getting a um, anything but Christmas-related celebration. I hoped for a dinner at Vivo today with my family, but everything ended so damn late everyone's too tired to budge. I hoped for a nice outing I've been pending for a long time, but plans changed - again and again and again and again and again and again.

Blah. Never hope.

Oh, this is the photo I promised:

Yea, new DVD player (check my eyeline; freaking greedy swine).

Okay.
SMILE, SMILE, SMILE, SMILE, SMILE, YA?
GOODBYE.

Give me my Hello Panda, yo

Give me my Hello Panda, yo

Days like this, I don't know what to do with myself
All day and all night
I wander the halls along the walls and under my breath
I say to myself
I need fuel to take flight
And there's too much going on
But it's calm under the waves, in the blue of my oblivion
Under the waves in the blue of my oblivion
-Fiona Apple

People have been saying stuff like workaholics have no life. But you know what? You don't have to party all day to have a life. Work is your life - if you love what you're doing :)

Anyway, here are my photo updates in case my photos expire.

Prepping for the anniversary:

P.S. I won a DVD player in the FMS 15th anniversary lucky draw. Show you in my next post.

Then the credits roll

Then the credits roll

One by one, my favorite books/novels are sneaking into our theatres :) The interesting thing is, I predicted their reel existence when I was 16. Gee. It started with Memoirs of a Geisha, then Gossip Girls, and now Shanghai Baby (I'm pretty disappointed with the casting, however). Now I'm pending for Empress Orchid/The Last Empress, and K: The Art of Love.

I might be lucky ;)

Always slow to update myself with the movies around me, I'm going to make an effort today to do some self film-improvement (hint - with the help of PB to help me download, of course).

So presenting to my blogders, my updated either-watch-or-die movie list:
1. Harold and Kumar I & II
2. Tuesdays with Morrie
3. Lars and the Real Girl
4. The Lover of the Last Empress, 1994
5. Vicky Cristina Barcelona
6. In the Mood for Love
7. Shanghai Baby
8. 10 promises I make to my Dog
9. Thin, the documentary
10. Blind Date
11. Hana and Alice
12. The Orphanage
13. Last Present

"I thought you'd pick some boring art film. Didn't know film students like to watch such popular but useless sappy movies too." -Rica

Hahahahh.
