LESSON ON ENVY

I'm learning to deal with negative feelings, like envy and jealousy.

Envious of normal stuff. Women with more successful careers, things like that. I'm finding that if you try to resist your envy, it sticks around. But if you accept it as natural, don't judge yourself, and leave it as part of God's big plan for you, it will pass, like a cloud.

PICASSO BABY X THE ARTIST IS PRESENT

This is Jay-Z's performance art "Picasso Baby", that was inspired by one of my favorite performance artists, Marina Abramovic.

At Marina Abramovic's 2010 MoMa retrospective, she performed "The Artist Is Present" as part of the show, where she shared a minute of silence with each stranger who sat in front of her. Her ex lover, Ulay, arrived without her knowing.

Marina Abramovic and Ulay started an intense love story in the 70s, performing art out of the van they lived in. When they felt the relationship had run its course, they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, each from one end, meeting for one last big hug in the middle and never seeing each other again.
